Smart lights pack a cool factor due to their millions of colors, but they are also powerful workhorses that can improve a user’s quality of life in the home or workplace.
What are the benefits of smart lights?
Smart lights are able to project millions of different colors (or temperatures) of light, which can create optimum environments for reading, watching media, encouraging healthy melatonin levels and more. They can be controlled remotely, so users have complete and immediate control of the lights in their home; they are thus a security product. They can be turned on when certain conditions are met: when users are arriving home, when a times expires, when a doorbell rings or a person is seen by a smart security camera. Smart light bulbs can last anywhere between 15 and 20 years.
How do smart lights work?
Smart lights may be used in any light socket that takes a regular light bulb. Some require a hub to work and others don’t; in either case, the bulbs connect to a home’s WiFi and are controlled through and app or another smart devices.
What are the challenges of smart lights?
Smart bulbs are very efficient and will save a user money. They have a long life span and are not cheap: a single bulb can cost anywhere from $15 to $60. Beyond that, there are very few challenges to smart lights, given the ability to work in almost every lamp.
